Wow, a decade sure flies by! It feels like just yesterday I was ringing in the new year and now here we are, saying goodbye to the last ten years. It’s been an incredible journey - highs and lows, successes and failures - but all in all it’s been an amazing decade. From technological advances to social movements, this past ten years has seen some major changes that will shape our future for years to come. Here’s to the next decade! Cheers!
Why Is It Called A Decade? [Solved]
A decade is a period of ten years - it’s been around since the Middle Ages, when people used to say “decade of years”. Nowadays, we just shorten it to “decade”!
1980s: The 1980s was a decade of economic growth, technological advancement, and the rise of pop culture. It saw the emergence of MTV, the personal computer revolution, and the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
1990s: The 1990s was a period of rapid economic growth and technological advancement. It saw the rise of the internet, mobile phones, and digital media as well as an increase in global trade and investment.
2000s: The 2000s was a decade marked by globalization and increased connectivity between people around the world through technology such as social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. It also saw an increase in environmental awareness with initiatives such as Earth Day becoming more popular than ever before.
2010s: The 2010s was a decade characterized by political turmoil with events such as Brexit taking place in Europe while civil unrest occurred across many countries including Syria, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Ukraine and Venezuela among others. Technological advancements continued to be made with artificial intelligence becoming increasingly prevalent while virtual reality became more accessible to consumers worldwide
A decade is a period of 10 years. It’s a long time, and a lot can happen in that span! It’s amazing to think about all the changes that can take place in just one decade. From new technology to fashion trends, it’s incredible how much can change in such a short amount of time. Who knows what the next decade will bring?
